System History/Future |
I recieved this system from my
grandfather whom recieved it from the church he attended
at the time. This TRS-80 was in relatively good and
extremely barebones condition despite a few problems that
only showed up after I really got into playing around
with this system. One problem was the fact that the keyboard started experiencing "bounce" (where the contacts get dirty and you get wierd results when you press a key) only a half year after I first recieved this computer. The other problem was a bad drive. I was able to replace the drive with one intended for an Apple II (it actually worked) just before the keyboard went south. So after about a half year of fun with this old system, it ended up living up to it's nickname, the "trash" 80. However I do still have some souvenirs from this little adventure. A copy of visicalc and the logo plate from the front of the computer. |
