For Love and Justice Part 0 by LeVar Bouyer (lbouyer@abs.net) Yes, part zero. As I find it more aesthetically pleasing to include these sorts of preliminaries in a seperate file, here you are. If nothing else, you'll know that the filesize of part I is all fic, and no window-dressing. First note out of the way: this story is based upon and is a continuation of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Orion. If you're not familiar with it, I can't guarantee that you'll be able to follow all that goes on in here. You've been warned. If you wish, previous episodes can be found at http://www.abs.net/~lbouyer/ (and to my more regular readers, please start getting used to using that address, since I'll be leaving LVC in December and the BSSO page's status is something I'll be attending to this summer). That said, what is For Love and Justice? The short version is that FLAJ is what I have to write or else go mad. The long version is that BSSO has been my main obsession for the last four years. When it was over, there was still plenty that I wanted to tell, and not all of it directly related to the story's darlings, Jen and Eileen. Originally this was to be Sailor Orion R. But as its scope expanded more and more, first to the planet senshi, then past them to others in the world I had created, I dropped both that and another Sailor Moon RP title in favor of the present one. What does the title mean? You'll find out soon enough, I expect. Other than the obvious ("for love and justice, I am the pretty sailor-suited soldier Sailor Moon"), you'll be on your own. Some ground rules: names throughout are given in Western order, i.e. surname, then family name. This is mainly for consistency; it's odd to have Jennifer Sakachi and Tsukino Usagi, so rather than use Sakachi Jennifer I switch it around to Usagi Tsukino. With the exception of names and untranslatable concepts (for example, kami, senshi, or honorifics like -chan and -san), there should be no Japanese in this fic. You can email me or prod me on IRC if you want the details, but basically I've decided that it was detrimental to the quality as a whole. This is where I say a bunch of thank yous to people. First and foremost, the pre-reading trio of Amanda Anderson, Kevin Callahan, and Corvus, the three of whom had the most impact and gave those most feedback on this story over the last two months. Also of help in reading the original version of this story and polishing it, in no particular order: Michael Borelli, Dustin, Josh Smith, Devin deGruyl, Daniel Amsler, Rick Ewing, Jessie Long, Dark Ferret, and anyone else I've forgotten. And a very sincere thank you to everyone who's written to me since episode 419. I guess this won't be much of a surprise, and I can't promise the regularity of this little story, but I hope you'll like it anyway. That should be all, I think. Character profiles can be provided if there's sufficient demand; I've refrained from doing so here because I wanted to avoid spoilers. Oh yes, silly me. Sailor Moon and its associated characters are owned by Naoko Takeuchi, Toei, and others, and their American incarnations by DIC. They are not me, and aside from buying a few CDs and plushies I've had nothing to do with them, so you can bet safe money that I'm doing this without their permission. If you sue me, all you'll get is bad press and about $50, so don't bother. This does *not* go for Sailor Orion, Sailor America, or any other characters of my creation. They are mine, and I'll be very cross at anyone who uses them without my express permission. There is the remote possibility that characters created by other authors may make apperances; in those cases I'll be sure to give them proper credit. This story may be freely posted on any web page or archive, under the following conditions: 1) that it remain unchanged in any way, 2) that it not be used for profit, and 3) that you tell me the address of the page.
