Warner Brothers never had a Chip N Dale.  Disney introduced Chip N Dale 
in the 1943 cartoon, "Private Pluto".  They weren't named until a few 
years later when they appeared in a Donald Duck short titled "Chip an Dale".

In 1989 Chip N Dale showed up in Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, clothed 
oddly enough.  In the pilot the two chipmunks meet Montery Jack (a 
mouse), Zipper (a fly), and Gadget (another mouse).  Together they form 
the Rescue Rangers.
