(A light comes on, revealing a stage with curtains drawn.  A pair of bats
laboriously drag a microphone to center stage.  When they have it in place
a spider crawls up the pole and grumbles a "testing" message into the
microphone.  Then the speaker glides into the spotlight, clears her
throat, and announces:)

Greetings, darlings.

I'd like to let you know that there is a mailing list called "Disney
Afternoon File Time", or "DAFT" for short, for Disney Afternoon fans. 
This list is specifically for "media" - fan fiction, GIF/JPG files, WAV
files, other binaries, and whatever else may be appropriate for Disney
Afternoon fans that would not normally be found in a newsgroup.

Why a mailing list?  Let's face it; there's precious little easily
available out there for us.  Why comb the binaries.sounds and
binaries.pictures newsgroups for an occasional crumb?  And fan fiction,
though it's out there, is hard to come by.  Hence this mailing list - I
want to make it available to everyone interested, without making them root
through a bunch of newsgroups that they may not even have access to.  And,
by making it more available, I hope to encourage creativity in others!

So far we have more than 120 members, both spectators and contributors,
and room for plenty more.  E-mail me at the above address for information.

I'll be waiting for you.
